College Advisory Program
Weston FC established its College Advisory Program in 2010 and has promoted hundreds of players into college soccer at all levels. CAP is a comprehensive program that includes providing individual one on one sessions with players to identify the right college that fits their academic and athletic goals, and comports with their financial resources. Weston FC also conducts an annual College Symposium for players and parents that is a comprehensive overview of all the considerations families need to take into account in deciding on a college program. The symposium conducted by Weston FC Board members, Technical Staff and former and current college coaches. The symposium includes a discussion on the differences between college divisions, choosing the geographical location and size that is a good fit, how to obtain scholarships, the time commitment and expectations of college coaches, the best ways to be recruited, and the importance of academic excellence in high school.
CAP is led by Assistant Academy Director Mike Czyrnek. Mike played four years at Montclair State University and was an Assistant Coach at College of Mount Saint Vincent and Farleigh Dickinson University before joining Weston FC in 2020. Mike has strong relationships with numerous college coaches across the country at all levels and has been instrumental in placing Weston FC players in college soccer programs and promoting Weston FC. Mike mentors and advises our players from the age of 15 through placement and even after they are playing in college soccer to ensure the players are enjoying their college experience.
